US Flight Delay and Cancellation Data (BTS 2023–2025)
Aggregated statistics from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics on-time reporting for US domestic flights: 20,928,579 scheduled flights for delays (January 2023 to December 2025) and 14,080,680 for cancellations (2024 to 2025). US network delay rate 21.23%, cancellation rate 1.41% (199,191 cancelled). A flight counts as delayed when it arrived 15 or more minutes after its scheduled arrival, the BTS and DOT on-time standard. Cancelled and diverted flights are excluded from the delay rate. Cancellation rate is cancelled flights divided by scheduled flights.
